Throwing wood chips is just as much fun as throwing sand! 
This afternoon (Mother's Day) we headed up to an area west of the Loveland in the mountains. We hiked along a road for a little while and came to an open meadow where Marc practiced his map and compass skills as Adria and I had fun playing in the wood chips. Adria loved throwing the chips in the air. Those wood chips sure stick to your pants though. We managed to leave the area without any splinters. After that we continued our walk up a very steep section in the road stopping a few times to breathe and eat snow. Adria loved eating the snow! At the end of our excursion we had a very sleepy babe on our hands who fell asleep in the carseat-she even snored once or twice. :)
